Six Flags Recovering after Bankruptcy

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation emerged from bankruptcy protection in April of 2010 and has since produced promising results. The theme park chain, which includes locations in California, Texas and New York, was saddled with more than $2.7 million in debt when the company initially sought protection by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009. The Chapter 11 reorganization cut the company's debt by more than 60%. According to revenue for the third quarter of 2010, the company's revenue was up 6% from the previous year (this excludes profit attributable to investors for two of the theme parks: Arlington, TX and Lake George, NY.)

Bankruptcy may be a viable option for individual and business debtors who are overwhelmed with debt and need to reorganize their debt or liquidate assets to get a fresh start. If you would like to discuss your options in seeking this form of debt relief, the Malaise Law Firm can help.
