Texas Lawsuit Continues in spite of Chapter 7 Conversion
The Texas Attorney General's office is proceeding with a lawsuit against Telligenix, an affiliate of Dynetech Corporation, in spite of the Dynetech founder Laurence Pino's move to convert his firm and its affiliates from a Chapter 11 reorganization to a Chapter 7 liquidation.
Texas prosecutors originally sued Telligenix and its affiliates in District Court in Harris County on September 18, 2009. The case includes allegations that Telligenix violated the state's deceptive trade practices and consumer protection law. In spite of the Chapter 7 conversion, the case is moving forward and a hearing is scheduled for November 30th, 2010 that includes an appearance by Laurence Pino.
According to Pino, the bankruptcy filing is being converted due to one creditor's disapproval of the proposed payment plan under Chapter 11. Dynetech Corp. used to be one of Central Florida's largest privately held companies, with more than $287 million in annual revenue.
