This Tuesday, Denny Hecker is expected to plead guilty to criminal charges related to his bankruptcy case. Hecker is a former auto mogul from the Midwest.
Recently, Hecker and his defense attorney reached a deal with federal prosecutors in which he will plead guilty to one count of bankruptcy fraud and a lesser count of conspiracy, which is a white collar offense.
Each charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. This means that Hecker could be sentenced with a maximum of 10 years for his charges. Under the recent agreement, 23 charges against Hecker will be dropped by prosecutors.
Last Thursday, prosecutors accused Hecker of committing new crimes while on bail. He had been facing 24 counts of bankruptcy fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors also say Hecker concealed more than $150,000 in insurance checks and was in defiance of court orders.
