Leroy Waters Lied About Income during Chapter 13 Proceedings
Leroy Waters is up to his nose in debt and could now be facing extra charges of lying about his income during his Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing. He has already pleaded not guilty to the five counts of falsification of records in bankruptcy that has been pinned on him.
For the time being Waters will not be kept in jail since the U.S. Magistrate overseeing his case, Judge William Cassady, will let him remain at home until the trial is completed. According to the federal indictment against him Waters has been accused of listing his 2007 income as $87,000 when it was actually $352,885 when he served as hemophilia account director for MedFusionRX.
Waters attorney, Christ Coumanis, avers that his client is innocent of all charges against him. Coumanis added that "[Waters] relied on the professionals representing him at the bankruptcy." Prosecutors also believe that he lied about his income during the six months prior to filing for bankruptcy, listing his income at $7,666.66 while it was actually $94,596.69.
