Dallas Stars Are for Sale

Are you looking to purchase a NHL team? If so, the Dallas Stars have just gone on the market.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the hockey team has entered into negotiations with several prospective buyers in a bid to outrun bankruptcy. The former CEO of the Texas Rangers, Chuck Greenberg, and Tom Gagliardi, a businessman from Vancouver, are the two top bidders for the NHL team.

However, hockey insiders believe that Greenberg is more likely to obtain the team as he already has experience in the sale of NHL teams, namely the Pittsburgh Penguins. Despite this, Gagliardi has been in exclusive talks with team owners for several months and is already hopeful of a purchase agreement happening soon.

Another team that is currently on the market, the Phoenix Coyotes, has had very little interest since announcing its financial situation. The St. Louis Blues hopes to experience some of the bidding success that the Stars are having as they seek buyers and/or partners in the future.
