A new counseling center in Arlington is designed to help homeowners learn more about their mortgages and how to avoid foreclosure.
If you live in Tarrant County and are having difficulty making your mortgage payments, you should take advantage of this new opportunity. Operated by JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest mortgage servicers in the country, it will offer free counseling to mortgage holders. Following the success of a similar center in Dallas, JPMorgan Chase decided to open a new center for homeowners in northern Texas.
Of the 2.9 million foreclosures that were listed in 2010, 60,000 of them were in North Texas. According to Jorge Davila, who now runs the center, 8,000 loan counselors have been added to the staff of JPMorgan Chase, and the Arlington center will have six of them.
