Foreclosures May Remain High in 2012

While the trends in foreclosure are looking good for Austin, the figures are still high and could remain high through 2012.

According to a survey, foreclosures in Austin have stayed under 1,200 filings for six months in a row. When compared to October of last year, foreclosures are down 18.5 percent, a significant decline that is giving many in Austin hope. These figures are applied to Williamson, Hays, Travis and Bastrop counties as a whole. However, Bastrop County did see a slight increase in filings, while its neighboring counties saw significant declines.
