Foreclosures Picking Up Speed Again
Now that the robo-signing foreclosure scandal has nearly drawn to a close, foreclosures are once again on the rise. According to one research firm, homes foreclosed by major banks increased over 21% in the last quarter.
Once foreclosure bans were lifted by state and federal authorities, eight major banks started processing foreclosure papers with renewed vigor. As a result, more homeowners received notices than in the previous two quarters. However, it was also reported that while this jump in foreclosure filings is high, the actual number of new homes being added to the list has decreased.
